All these are situated on the border of Kolhapur and have interesting history associated with them. The Chittorgarh Fort is the largest fort constructed in India and you will find it very captivating due to its age-old stories and architecture. The Meghalaya Historical Centre houses some of the important monuments and museums in Meghalaya and is the best place to find information about the state. The Kaneri Math is perhaps Kolhapur’s most beautiful park, as it is designed and constructed in the shape of a fort.

Other important and famous tourist attractions in Kolhapur include the Charminar and the Mahalakshmi Temple. Both these places are near the airport and are good starting points for sightseeing in Kolhapur. The Charminar is an open air museum with lots of interesting sculptures and paintings. The Mahalakshmi temple is a beautiful place surrounded by beautiful greenery and is well worth visiting. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is the lord of plants.
